Nannies (slippers)

Nannies: A comfy slipper made from vintage Double Knit & Polyester Fabrics

NANNIES ARE SLIPPERS BEING MADE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR A MISSION TRIP TO UGANDA AND KENYA TO VISIT VARIOUS ORPHANAGES. THE BIBLE CALLS US ALL TO SERVE THE LEAST OF THESE. JAMES 1:27 SAYS “RELIGION THAT IS PURE AND UNDEFILED BEFORE GOD, THE FATHER, IS THIS: TO VISIT ORPHANS AND WIDOWS IN THEIR AFFLICTION, AND TO KEEP ONESELF UNSTAINED FROM THE WORLD.” I PRAY THAT YOU WILL CONSIDER ORDERING A PAIR OR TWO OR EVEN JUST GIVING DIRECTILY TO THE TRIP FUND. NANNIES MAKE GREAT GIFTS ESPECIALLY WITH CHRISTMAS COMING UP. I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ORDER AND YOUR SUPPORT. MATTHEW 25:40 SAYS “AND THE KING WILL ANSWER THEM, TRULY I SAY TO YOU, AS YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BROTHERS, YOU DID IT TO ME. “

Slippers made from vintage style double-knit and polyester fabrics. Will stretch to fit! Though Color and Fabric Design cannot be guaranteed, quality is!
Therefore if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase please contact me to make arrangements for refund or exchange.

Kenya/Uganda: Here I Come!

October 10, 2011

Dear Family and Friends,
I am very excited to be writing to you today. God has been working in my life and I want to share with you the journey He is taking me on. Since my trip to Tunisia in 2010, I’ve been praying that He would send me again. Just this morning the scripture that I read was Isaiah 6:8 “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me.’” This has been my prayer for the past couple of years and HE is sending me!

This winter I have an amazing opportunity to visit an orphanage in Uganda and Kenya. This 13 day mission-trip is being organized by a Christian non-profit ministry called Visiting Orphans. They organize trips for Christian groups to visit orphanages all over the world. You can learn more about them at: www.VisitingOrphans.org.
I am writing to ask you to partner with me on this trip by praying, encouraging and financially supporting me. Please pray that our team will have unity and that our travels will be safe and we’ll remain healthy. Pray also that God will teach me more about Himself and especially pray that we’ll be able to communicate God’s love to the children we meet.

The cost for me to attend this trip is $3700. This includes all my travel, lodging, meals, and translators. Once I’ve reached my goal, any additional money raised on my behalf can go toward orphanage donations on our trip. $2200 is due to Visiting Orphans by October 26 and the remaining due 3 weeks prior to my trip. So as you can see this is quite a task to get done within a small amount of time, but I know it is possible through Him! Matthew 19:26

Thank you for considering being a part of my support team. If you need to contact me, please email me at : elisha.robertson@gmail.com or call me at 903.436.5841. If you’re able to help support me, you can use the sample response card below. You can also donate on the Visiting Orphans website, just be sure to designate that it is the Uganda/Kenya Team 2 trip from Dec. 27-Jan. 8 and put my name down. I also will be making slippers to sell and use the money towards the trip. See next post for info on ordering these.
Thank you so very much for your support!

Serving Him together,

Elisha Robertson

Did somebody say chocolate?

Well I think I may have found a new favorite thing to make. You see, Hobby Lobby is one of my absolute favorite stores and I always go down the cake/baking isle but never turn my eyes to the candy side. Well yesterday, I turned my eyes and I got a couple of valentine heart molds and this way cool squeeze bottle that you put the chocolate in to melt and fill the molds. Ok, sooooo easy and the results are sooooo cute! I love this and will be going back to try the flavored chocolate chips as well as some other molds. These are cheap, easy and make cute favors!

Snow Daze

Love is in the Air

The girls got to go enjoy a fun time at the Daddy/Daughter Dance. They were excited to get new dresses and also dresses for their American Girl Dolls. They wore corsages with painted fingernails. They had pink cookies, punch and chocolate kisses. There was lots of dancing and music. Wonderful memories were made with their daddy!

Snow day #2

So here we are day 2 stuck inside. Here's the list of activities for today.

Family Exercise Hour to Fit Moms DVD
45 minutes of Ping Pong Game (see below for explanation)
Craft Time (magazine collages)
Move Time (Shrek Forever)
Beauty Salon (put girls hair in dreadlocks, pics to come!)
Valentine Bingo
Spelling Practice/Reading Time
Make a tent in girls' room to keep them busy for maybe 10 minutes
Family Worship/Prayer Time (hopefully will have music by Dad, a devo, and prayer time)

As the day progresses the volume seems to go up and up in here. Looking forward to the melting of the ice. Not enough snow this go around to play in, plus it's way too cold!

Ok, so for those of you interested in Ping Pong Game here it is. You take as many ping pong balls as you desire and write different chores on each one with a sharpie. They might be things like wash dishes, vacuum, empty trash cans, feed the animals, pick up toys, fold clothes, etc. Everyone chooses a ball and does that, as soon as that task is complete they draw another ball. The point of the game is to get the most ping pong balls and that person is the winner! The girls love it because it's a competition.

Snow Day!

Ok, very quickly this morning I realize that we are going to have to make this "snow day" very structured or else this house will close in on us very fast. So, while taking my shower this morning my mind was racing with ideas. And these are the activites I've come up with for today and possibly tomorrow.

ART: Decorate Valentine Mailboxes
LANGUAGE ARTS: Make Valentine Cards
HOME ECONOMICS AND MATH/SCIENCE: Make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
SPELLING: Play Scrabble Junior
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Play Hide & Seek
READING: Individual reading time
BIBLE: Write letters to our sister Karla in Nicaragua
REST TIME: Movie & Popcorn
GAME TIME: Valentine Bingo

It's the teacher in me wanting to keep things organized and structured. I figure we'll have fun and still learn too.
